The UFA Agricultural Community Foundation (UFA Foundation) is pleased to announce an exciting new sponsorship with Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan (AITC-SK), an organization that is dedicated to connecting kids and agriculture. The sponsorship will be recognized as Farm & Ag Tours, Fueled by UFA Agricultural Community Foundation, a natural fit for the UFA Foundation which invests in educational programs that create agricultural awareness. AITC-SK's innovative, hands-on and curriculum-based approach to food systems education could light that spark for a young student to pursue a career in agriculture.
"This investment in youth, education and agriculture is significant for us," says Kevin Hoppins, UFA Foundation Advisory Board Chair. "Part of our vision is to ensure the success of the next generation and no doubt this Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan program will inspire future leaders of agriculture. It opens up an opportunity for youth to visit a farm and learn where our food comes from, where they may not have had a chance otherwise."
Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan partners with the agriculture and education communities to offer students, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, a genuine on-farm experience to learn first-hand about food production in Saskatchewan. The funding for Farm & Ag Tours will enable a total of 55 classrooms from across Saskatchewan to take part in this exciting program.
The UFA Foundation is proud to be adding Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan to their lineup of major sponsorships this year. To learn more details about funding opportunities and eligibility for all UFA Foundation programs, please visit The UFA Agricultural Community Foundation.
